The House of Creed

200 Perfumes in 250 years

The House of Creed is family owned perfume house that holds a selection of 200 perfumes, developed over 250 years.
The fragrance world is becoming increasingly cost driven as large international fashion companies focus on mass production. This has given rise to synthetic ingredients, less thorough preparation, and, as a result, inferior quality. There is one fragrance manufacturer that continues to defy this trend, however. It is the House of Creed.
Founded in 1760 by James Henry Creed, the company has not faltered on its ideals in its 250 year history. It remains in the family’s hands, today run by Oliver Henry Creed, a direct descendent. The temptation to cut costs and increase production scale has been avoided and their fragrances remain elite and luxurious. The House of Creed has produced over 200 perfumes, each unique and hand made. Their clients have been royalty, aristocrats, statesmen, movie and music stars.
Today Oliver Creed trusts noone with the ingredients that become their quality perfumes. He continues the family tradition of hand-picking the ingredients for their perfumes. He travels the world selecting the finest ingredients, such as the pureset rose essences from Bulgaria, Turkey or Morroco, Italian jasmine, irises from Florence, Tuberose from India or genuine Parma violets. Creed also manufactures their own essences in-house, using the traditional “infusion” technique, which has been abandoned by many other companies for being too expensive. The philosophy behind their approach is put best by Oliver Creed himself; “Each Creed fragrance is a blend of rare and noble essences assembled using the time honoured traditions of a perfume house that has combined the qualities of virtue and tradition for over two centuries”.
This tradition is continued n their latest offering, Virgin Island Water, for both men and women. The fragrance was inspired by the tranquil waters off the coast of Ginger Island, in the Virgin Islands. Oliver Creed and his son, Erwin, had been sailing the Sir Francis Drake Channel and were intoxicated by the summer aromas. The combination of lime, bergamot and mandarin with herbaceous notes, ylang ylang and jasmine from India on a base of musk from Tonkin, tropical woods, coconut and tiare flower all find their way into this captivating cocktail.
Its signature scents include Fleurissimo. A fragrance that was custom designed for Princess Grace Kelly when she wed Prince Ranier III of Monaco. Fleurissimo, previously only worn by royalty, is now readily available for all to wear. Other popular scents include Spring Flowers (Created for Audrey Hepburn), Imperial Millesimel, Riviera Flowers, Himalaya, Silver Mountain Water and Original Vetiver.
After more than 250 years, Creed continues to be the apothecary of the world's most coveted perfumes. It's quality perfumes are so renowned that The House of Creed continues to be comissioned by movie stars and royalty to make custom perfumes.
